‘GO RED, GET PINK!’ with Maybelline New York

The specially designed casing is a first for Maybelline and a first, too, for the local artist. FleeCircus, otherwise known as Lee Wai Leng, a graduate of LaSalle, has been at the forefront of the local illustration scene, working her pencil for luscious, whimsical renditions of butterflies, ladybugs and more.

Putting the spotlights quite firmly on the shining stars of our local design and creative scene, Maybelline has commissioned Lee to create a beautiful, surreal portrait of the Maybelline girl. She’s relaxed yet confidently chic and oh-so-New York.

Singapore AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2008

Action for AIDS, in conjunction with the 25th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, will be hosting the Singapore AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2008 on Sunday 18th May at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium (School of Law / School of Accountancy), Singapore Management University at 76, Bras Basah Park. Map at http://www.street-directory.com/smu/. Guests are to arrive at the SMU at 6:30pm for registration.

The Memorial will be observed simultaneously in over 300 cities around the world to honour the lives and memory of those who have fallen to the scourge of HIV/AIDS. The international organisation is coordinated by the Global Health Council and Singapore will be hosting the Memorial for the 17th year.

ADMISSION IS FREE and
ALL ARE WELCOME.

HIV Ignorance Is No Defense in
Singapore Plan to Curb Risky Sex

Feb. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Every weekend, men from Singapore take a one-hour ferry ride to Indonesia's Batam Island for cheap golf, beer and sex.

About S$70 ($49) hires an island prostitute for the day, compared to just an hour with a Singapore hooker. The trade has contributed to a doubling of Singapore's HIV infection rate in the past 10 years, the government says.

Mood & Love features an exhibition of mixed media of paintings, photography, graphics and prints of Nick Isa first solo exhibition in Singapore. It is a charity project with Action for Aids, in time with Valentine 2008, in creating awareness, educate, or change perception of "falling in love', understanding the good moral of love and not to "abuse love". 40% fo the sales will be donated to the AFA (AIDS Medical Assistance Funds).
